Nicaragua: Jobs in Managua:

I currently work remotely as a Microsoft software consultant and have for too many moons. My clients do not have an issue with location, just results. I plan to take the employment with me this summer when relocating to Nica. I agree with the previous comments that it may be easier to bring the job (any remote internet based position) with you from the States, albeit I don't yet have the first hand knowledge that so many have been kind enough to share on this thread. So just a thought. Good luck!

Nicaragua: Residency:

Greetings ALL! I am very much looking forward to moving with my family to Nicaragua in the summer of 2017 and have been following these conversations for months. I have lived in wonderful places like St. Gallen, Switzerland for a couple of years, and also sadly challenged internally, but so very beautiful Port-au-Prince, Haiti for 3 to 4 years (in addition to many others, like Khatmandu, Nepal, and so on). My younger brother was born in Dhaka, Bangladesh-Pakistan so I was lucky enough to learn and speak Bengali prior to English. Hmmm... cannot remember a word. ?? I am well aware that when relocating or simply visiting as an American, or other worldwide citizen there are a myriad of obstacles - yet a sense of peace, frustration and corruption - yet unadulterated beauty, fascination and incredible people. Acclimation to a new culture, anywhere in the world takes some great amount of adjustment. It takes patience, a completely open mind, and a inquisitive attitude regarding new foods, etc.., and there will be good and bad people, good and bad days anywhere and everywhere in the world. I always found it easier to acclimate to a foreign country and culture than to make the return to the States adjustment. Rather than continue to bludgeon all of you with a novel, I would like to simply THANK ALL on this thread that have generously shared their time and knowledge with us newbies. Invaluable stuff people! I also enjoy the occasional banter or disagreement, but I guess my thought is... aren't we all here to help and assist as a collective support system for a better life, greater knowledge, and potential friendships? Some I know that will last a lifetime. Is there anyone that is in charge or occasionally monitoring this share? I will preface this with.... I am not selecting or pointing out any individual(s), but does any one, or any group not have the position to ask continuing abusers to vacate the post? I absolutely do NOT offend easily and am not at all upset in any way. Don't believe in it. ??. I am am also not one to be pushed away from what I feel to be an awesome resource for like-minded persons to meet, help and befriend. I simply have recently noticed quite an anger and hatred reflected in postings from a select few. I do not pretend to know the underlying cause(s), but I do sincerely hope that all will take a breath before posting anything that may scare away new people from the choice of a happy life in Nicaragua. Individuals that might in time become a great friend, ally, or asset to our expat community and/or Nicaragua herself. Hoping All are having a wonderful and HAPPY holiday season. Blessed Be....Christine

Nicaragua: Giving Gratitude:

Greetings All! I have been following these posts and suggestions for six months now, as my family will be moving to Nicaragua in July/August 2017. I have not posted or asked questions prior to this, and as you know, I have gazillions. I so very much appreciate all the wonderful advice, suggestions and opinions posted (even the few "disagreements" recently) :-). I loved this video and music in a time of thanks. Sharing was much appreciated. Hoping that over the next month I might be allowed to pick your brains, as it were, on these many challenges, and I thank you in advance for any and all of your help! Christine
