Egypt: Visa process help please:

I wish you "GOOD LUCK" in whatever decision you make although from "YEARS" of experience with the culture of Egypt and the Middle East....you will NEVER be "one of them.....not to say that you won't be accepted in this man's family! Who's to say??????? I love Egypt and all it's GOOD people and especially now with all that has happened with the revolution and now the tourist industry is really really hurting as I still have a male american friend who has been living there in Cairo for 14 years and more so I get information all the time of what is going on there! You have NEVER been to Egypt.....it is another world believe me....AND I miss it very much but would not go back for several personal reasons!!!!! No matter what your read on this "Forum" or what anyone tells you....you will in the end make your decision and "LEARN" on your own!!!!!! I wish you happiness and the VERY BEST with your situation!!!! I fell in love with an Egyptian and still love him......although he died two years ago and I am still mourning his death sad to say!!!!!!!!!! Things were not good either for me but I was an "ALLOWER" for a LONG time!!!!! ANYWAY.....I could write a HUGE NOVEL about my situation!!! WISHING YOU BOTH THE BEST....INSHALLAH!!!!!! GOD BLESS AND ANGELS BE NEAR!!!!!!!!!!

Egypt: I need to understand:

What is "Not to understand"????? Isn't it obvious everyone is lying and avoiding you and your daughter.....that is VERY OBVIOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My story would be TOOOOOOOO long to even tell you.....but this I know.......we become "allowers" also and I am not saying this to be cruel but I was the hugest ALLOWER EVER!!!!!!!!! Had you been Egyptian things would be different although these days ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE no matter where your from or who you are!!!!! I feel for you and especially your child and also she is a girl......boys are more important.....especially in the middle-east and I am not saying every single person is like this but the majority are!!!!!!!! Better you forget these people because if they wanted to help you and your daughter they could easily do that.....its hard to say "get on with your life" and I swear I don't ever tell ANYONE what to do.....my Egyptian experience is HUGE and PAINFUL!!!!!!!!!!!! GOOD LUCK AND ANGELS BE FOREVER NEAR!!!!!!!! I Hope I didn't offend you in any way!! I continually read all of these posts and so many times I've wanted to respond but held back!!!!!!

Hi Soniaa.......I am a professional Bellydancer, Flamenco dancer myself and lived in the Giza area for a year teaching Flamenco before the revolution. There is a dancer whom I know is VERY professional and also reasonable too. You may go on "Facebook" and put his name in "search" and you will have more info there. I talk to him every morning on"Skype" (Web-cam) and I will tell him about you. You may email me (nagwas@aol.com ) and give me your cell or mobile number) so this way he can contact you!! My website is: www.nagwa.com GOOD LUCK and Mabrouk!! Wishing you the best!

Egypt: hello everyone :):

This message is to those women who are enchanted with these "Egyptian" men......and especially on line!!!!!! With how the political and chaos that is now there in Egypt.....I would want to get out too!! I lived there in Cairo for a year and previously traveled to Cairo more than 10 times and am very familiar with the people, culture and also the huge ammount of games and lies that these guys will go to to get to what benefits "THEM"!!!!! Believe me BEEN THERE DONE THAT ONE"!!!!!!!!! Its a LONG and SAD road and I will admit being a GOOD HEARTED person only makes you that much more vulnerable and "VICTIM" of the circumstances AND also being an "ALLOWER" which I am to fault for that ....GOD KNOWS WHY???????? I realize all that has been posted on this "Forum about the foreign women and Egyptian men and I do not say that every Egyptian man is bad....HOW CAN I SAY THAT as there are BAD men EVERY WHERE all over the world but we must understan ulture, religion and especially "survival" too and especially the way the country is now!!!!!!!!!!!....." To persoanlly put all the details of my situation is just tooooooo long to put into word but I tell you (any woman) who falls for the SWEET WORDS will "PAY LATER"!!!!!!!!! I cannot say just HOW SAD AND SORRY I am for the many BAD decisions I made and YES! I was the one who made them....BUT....it takes two to tango so to speak!!!!!!! Everyone can advise......but in the end one makes their own decisions!!!! GOOD LUCK (Mabrouk) out there with those who become the fly in the spider's web and cannott get out!!!!!!!!!!! I know there may be "SOME" exceptions to the rule depending on many things for those who are "HAPPILY" married (being European or American) to Egyptian men and that is wonderful and I am very happy for them...but....it is the exception to the rule.....SAD TO SAY!!!!!! REMEMBER I understand there are as I said "BAD MEN EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!!" I LOVE the Egyptian people regardless of my situation and my pain, hurt and saddness let alone "LESS" money in my bank account for this!!!!! Wishing all human ity the very best in life!!! GOD BLESS!!!!

Egypt: Adjustment Sickness In Egypt:

I traveled to Egypt (Cairo, Luxor, Aswan) many, many times AND I lived in Cairo for a year off Pyramid St near the Great Pyramids and each and every time I was there I got sick......it didn't seem to matter what meds I took or whatever to avoid this AND i WAS VERY CAREFUL what I ate. No frsh fruits and veggies until I adjusted and ALWAYS bottled water. NOw I must say that I have a delicate stomach and so I think it depends on each person as to why one gets sick there. There are many things to consider, like touching money, shaking hands and so forth. I had more meds in my suitcase going there than clothes almost. I don't want to sound paranoid but it is a third world country and its HELL to be sick and especially if your in a traffic jam on the road which also happened to me and believe me you don't want to be in a situation like that! BEEN THERE DONE THAT ONE!!!!!!!! Hand sanitizer is a MUST and I used it a lot over there just to be on the safe side. When I lived there I slowly added some of the fresh fruits and veggies at a time,,,,,the Egyptian tomatoes were the most delicious ever....WHEN....I could eat them. It takes time to adjust and each person is different thats all!!!!! GOOD LUCK AND IN SPITE OF ALL THE CRAZINESS THERE I MISS EGYPT VERY MUCH!!!!!!!

Egypt: here we go again english woman and egyptian man:

All I can say (from my own experience....I am American....he....Egyptian)....is this.....LOVE DON'T PAY THE BILLS!!!!! I was the "ALLOWER" for TOOOOOOOOO LONG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Egypt: Egyptian men & foreign women in Luxor West Bank:

I agree with you a 100% in all that you say!!!! Perhaps there are some honest and good people there as in every country there is good AND bad!!! I am from then USA and a woman....real "targets" for anyone and everyone there to take advantage. Its just the culture and I assume suvival of the fittist so to speak.....believe me....I've been to Egypt...lived in Cairo for a year too. So different when you live there and I've also been there with an "Orfi" as well!!!!! BEEN USED AND ABUSED...NOT PHYISICALY BUT ITS ALL THE SAME!! I could write a book. I went many, many times as a tourist to Cairo!!!! Good Luck to all women who travel there...for whatever reason!!!!! I miss Cairo very much...but don't miss their games!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Egypt: Beware......Egyptian men lurking....:

To all foreign women out there....no matter where you live.....BEWARE of EGYPTIANI LIARS....I am not saying ALL Egyptian men are that BUT for the most part they are sweet talkers and foreign women are their bait!!!! Unfortunetly I happend to fall in love with one. I was going through a divorce at the time (in the US)before I met him so he was not the reason I left my husband. This Egyptian man told me that his father passed away in Cairo and he had to return to Egypt to be with his family and he stayed in Cairo for four years without reporting to the American Embassy as he did have his US green card, social security card, drivers licence ( all the legal US papers) as he was in the US for many years. He is an artist (dancer and musician) He told me someone had told him in Cairo he didn't have to report to the American Embassy....this was over ten years ago. So when he finally did leave Cairo to come to the US they took all his legal documents. He got a state appointented lawyer to help him with his case as he wanted tp appeal.....this went on for years....then that is when I met him and we started a relationship....which sad to say I was crazy to do...BUT too late now.....I got an apartmnet close to NY (as he had to be close by because of his case) and we lived together for 7 years. He never worked and allowed me to pay for everything....AND even asked me for money every week and OH! SO MUCH MORE TO THIS STORY I can't begin to tell you!!!! I even paid for another lawyer ($1,000.00) to take over his case instead of a state appointed one. Well one day I came home and he told me his case was over and that he was deported. I was sooooo devestated and shocked. By that time it had been ten years since he had arrived in the US when they confiscated all his documents at Kennedy Airport. So he went back to Cairo which I also paid for his trip back home. I loved this man so much I was willing to get an apartment in Cairo and have a new life with the man I didn't want to lose. To make a long story...long...I by now (2009) had made five trips back and forth to Cairo within the past year and a half as each and every time I went there he would go no where and not want to spend any money (of which I gave him) so actually it was my moiney. I bought us a car so we would not have to take taxi's every day. a new computer and paid "AGAIN" for everything. YES! I am sure whom ever reads this will call me stupid and crazy and I even call myself this a million times but tooooo late now....the damage is already done...then I thought..... maybe there is a women out there I can spare her the hurt and heartache, agony and MONEY from anything like this happening to her!!!! I believe now it was just convenient for this man to stay with me until his case was finished. Also each and every time I went to Cairo he would stay in the apartment and we would go no where except to buy food or to go downtown once in a while till I was going mad and nuts by being in all the time....till both of us decided it was time for me to return to the US. I paid for the rent for a year in Giza......my second trip there. Then I was sent home each and every time. I would stay in the apartement for weeks sometimes....Each time I went to Cairo my stay was from one to three or four months...my last trip was the shortest (6 weeks)then come back to the US till I got so lonley and missing him as I LOVED HIM VERY MUCH....BOY! OH! BOY CAN LOVE BE BLIND!!!!!!!!!!!! Believe me there is so much more to this story...its unbelievable!!!! I was the allower so I cannott say I was not responsible for any of this BUT I was IN LOVE & TOTALLY BLIND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now I am back in the US living with my daughter who is out of work and I am helping her out which means I cannott send anymore money or anything to this man....well he is distant NOW...does that tell you something???? YES! when I can no longer give any money to him...he doesn't need to contact me or talk to me!!!! I AM OF NO USE TO HIM ANY MORE!!! SO ALL YOU GOOD AND DESERVING FOREIGN WOMEN OUT THERE IN EGYPT OR WHEREVER....BEWARE!!! Again I am sure that there are some good Egyptian men out there but they are the minority believe me!!!! I have been around the middle eastern people and community for over 20 some odd years so I understand their mentality and their culture very well!!!! UNFORTUNETLY THIS HAS BEEN MY EXPERIENCE!!!! I am still so angry at myself and especially him and hurt and sad and mad. I miss Cairo and love to be there to live as I did live there off and on for over a year. Who knows only "GOD" one day I may return as I have an American male friend who has lived there now for nine years and loves Cairo very much!!!!PLEASE BEWARE OF SWEET TALKING EGYPTIAN MEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SAD AND HURTING SO MUCH INSIDE!!!!!!!
