Belize: from snow to sand:

I wish (now that I have been here three month) that I had brought a set of towels etc and a set of sheets for the bed. I did bring my pillows. Any think that has battery's bring several extra. (AAA or AA or 9V). They have battery but they are expensive. Extra person item like mouth wash can be found but it is double the cost in the US. Seems like any item that has to be imported for from the states can cost double. Some imports from other country is not that expensive. If you take meds bring a 90 day supply. You can find most meds but several I take are not in Belize.

Belize: Looking at Belize to retire:

What about buying property (Belize) and putting it in your living trust from the US? Any body done this? Everything I have is in the US is in a living trust and I will not change this to buy in Belize.

Belize: Internet CC:

I paid $379 BZ for my mifi unit (smart) and 25 Gig of data. I paid another $110 BZ for the next 25 gig. It does work great but you have to watch what you do on the internet or your going to be spend a lot on data ever month. I have been uploading picture. If you do not use all the data in 45 days you loose it. So when your data is low and just before the 45 days just go get more and it will extend what you have for the next 45 days.

Belize: Belize duty:

I drove down from TX and plan to take the truck back with me. In Belize you can bring your truck in duty free and stay for up to four months. You have to get passport updated every 30 days and also the truck has papers that have to be updated every 30 days. Always get the passport updated first then you can get your update for your truck. In my case I had to go to two different placed to get updated stamps.

Belize: Visa extensions:

I have to go back Jan 5th to get my passport stamps. I am in San Ignacio and have heard that Belmopan or Dangriga have office to get you updated stamps. Also heard that you need to get there early and get a number and be prepared to wait 4 hours maybe more depending on the number you get. I am going to try Belmopan on Jan 5th. I also drove down so I need to get and updated stamp for my truck. Does any one know if I need to take just my passport or do I need to take and other documents for the truck?
