Slovenia: Is Slovenia Expat friendly:

Hi all-my wife and I are considering moving to Slovenia. We have lived in Prague, Brussels and Cairo. The first question that hits us is, if English is widely spoken, or would we have a communications barrier? Are people friendly? How is the economy doing? is life their expensive? What would be good cities/spots to consider. A lot of questions, we know, but would really appreciate it if we would get some feedback. Cheers
