Panama: moving to Panama in 2 weeks!:
Just curious, if you don't mind. Did you take care of residency paperwork and make a trip to Panama to finish getting your permanent visa prior to your permanent relocation? How long do you have to submit paperwork in the states and then go to Panama?
Panama: If Cost of Living is top of mind:
Sunset Steve. You seem like one of the few realist I have read while a part of the forum. People that live there seem to complain a lot and I wonder if I could live there at all on my retirement? I wish someone would set me straight. Would love to live near the ocean in a temperate climate! Should I come to Panama find a reasonable priced apartment and become a long term tourist or visit and spent a (for me) a lot of money on a permanent visa? These are questions I have. Can't afford to visit for a couple of months a tourist. Like to live as affordable as possible for six months. Can anybody provide some answers?
Panama: For anyone who has gone through the visa process already...:
I am also thinking about doing this very same thing. Not in Panama yet
Panama: Trump Won - I'm outta here!:
Whoever wrote the reply to this. You think you know something! You truly do not realize what a Trump win means. We will forever be known as an intolerant nation. Sexists, racist and soon to be more intolerant to our own people. Which I view as the native Americans!
Costa Rica: Costa Rica or Panama:
Got mixed information on which country is easier to find rentals etc. Want to retire next year. Any suggestions?
Panama: beginning stage:
Want to stay in Panama six months. Can I fly down and find apartment outside of Panama City. In mountains or near ocean. Does not matter. Or can I do this from US?
Panama: Potential Expat:
Have noticed something. Please correct me if wrong. Want to retire in Panama. Trying to get some information concerning paperwork, rentals etc. In short, a rough idea concerning a planning strategy. If there is anyone willing to befriend a fellow Veteran American please respond
Panama: Long Term Lease:
I am looking for a long term lease. Guess I should fly down and get a place. Then fly back to US to get paperwork in order? Any advice?
Panama: driver:
Thanks for info on bringing a dog into country. Anyone know how long once you turn in the required paperwork to Panamanian consulate in US to completion of the application for permanent visa in Panama. I want to live in Panama and do not want to fly back to the US for paperwork.
Panama: transportation:
Going to retire in Panama. Need to find a place to rent. Sounds like the public transportation is good.
