I live on the north coast. I have two small americanized dogs. I am leaving for one month and I need a caring honorable person to stay with them while I'm gone.

Salinas is more Americanized. And expensive. Hot and dry. Mamy.like it there. The mid coast had a good amount of earthquake damage. Don't go without a companion. But i know quite a few expats from different countries are there. The northern coast is more green and jungle like. Couple of good towns for living. Not a lot of gringos long term here, but easy without a car. Lots of transport options. Prices are reasonable. Just inspect your housing. A bit of earthquake damage here as well.

You can not drive more then 3-6 months on an international License. I believe it's 3 mos. But the international license from the USA from the Hague Convention agreement says 6 mos. Which Ecuador is a signing country.
