Colombia: Taking a car to medellin:

You might eant to recheck your information on bringing Canadian cars into the US. Thousands of used Canadian cars come into the US every day, through dealer exchanges, and privately owned vehicles can be brought over as well. There is a required import declaration, but it's not too difficult.

Colombia: Run in with Taxi Driver:

The taxista was not totally wrong in this case. What is owed is what's on the meter. However, as soon as you realized he was lost you could have had him stop, paid the fare and either walk the remaining distance, or get another taxi. Was there a language barrier? He may not have understood what you wanted to show him. Was there an attitude barrier? Nobody likes a customer telling them how to do their job. In the end, the price on the meter was less than $2 more than your estimate. Did you feel like you had made a stand by saving yourself enough money to buy a bottle of water?

Colombia: Hitron Cable Modem:

This link says 192.168.0.1 is the correct ip portal. Maybe there is something in there that will help. https://community.shaw.ca/docs/DOC-4066

Colombia: Shipping to colombia:

You can set up a reposting service, Mail Boxes Etc. Is one option. I ship to a friend in Colombia and it usually takes about 10 days to 2 weeks (using FedEx ground for US portion). If you are staying in Colombia, you will want to set something up like that. Many places will consolidate packages, let you check your mailbox online and choose what to send, what to discard and alert you to any new mail. Google "expat mail service" and you will find several options.

Colombia: Filandia vs Armenia redux:

The advantages of altitude.

Colombia: What you like and don't like in Medellin:

As far as major cities in Colombia go, it's probably your best choice. Many people find Bogota too cold and Cali too hot. Medellin also has the best transit system. Compared to any city in the US, cost of living ranged from a lot lower to unbelievably lower.. The question is, do you want to live in a major city? There are several 2nd tier and 3rd tier cities that come highly recommended. What sort of things are important to you?

Colombia: Colombia's downturn?:

For every group that doesn't like what their government is doing, there's another group that loves it. Find the group that is a close match to your situation and see how they feel.

Colombia: My travels in Colombia:

Nice videos Steve. I'm laughing at your Guatape street video. You said you were still looking for a farmacia, while walking past a drogueria.

Colombia: Posting Errors:

If you receive an error when posting a response, such as "Invalid CFML construction at line 50 column 32", you can ignore it. Your response has been posted. If you see 3 identical responses from the same person (guilty) it's because they didn't realize this and attempted to correct the problem.
