Ecuador: Health Insurance:

I am a 75 yr old Retired U.S. Marine moving to Cuenca, Ecuador for final Retire. Found a great lawyer through this forum. Issue: I will get the Government Insurance for about $70.00 I have had two open heart surgeries and diabetes and also use lots of Prescriptions. I am not a wealthy man by any means. Love to know from several of you if I can get proper treatment from the Govt Insurance or do I need a private plan to go to the best Hospital in Cuenca if things go sideways. Just the real fundamental truth here, this is so important to me. Remembe I am not a wealthy guy. Capt Ron USMC Ret.
