Costa Rica: Building Codes in Costa Rica?:

I am semi-retired. I have gotten used to living alone in US studio apartments of about 200-300 square feet. The building codes here do not allow new construction around that size. I am exploring retirement in Costa Rica. I would like to read about anyone's experiences with hassles, legal or otherwise, pursuing tiny/small house options, a yurt, or just to be thorough, living in a tent for months. I hope to avoid the expense of the usual type of house people build here in the US. Thanks

If the violent crime is connected to drug traffic to the US, is it concentrated along major north/south highways or is it evenly distributed across CR?
