Romania: Long term visa:
Hi there.
I'm sorry to hear that you have so many issues.
Before I can 100% answer you I need more information.
You say "my wife" are you married with a Romanian, does she live here, own a property or rent.
If you are married you should start with making sure that you have a paper saying that you own a property, are renting with her.
This paper has nothing to do with your residence here and can be obtained easily by the landlord or if you own by going to a notary.
Secondly for a residence you need proof of wealth or proof that you have an income. Also do you need to proof that you have a paid insurance from where you are from. All these papers can be validated by a notary.
After that you can obtain a residence.
Now your drivers licence. This part is more difficult. You're not European so your licence is only valid for a 3 month duration after that you need to travel abroad and come back for it to be valid.
Obtaining a European, say Romanian licence you need to or: do the test again and get one here which u can use abroad for 3 month and then the same story with traveling abroad.
If u need more info I'm happy to call you just message me.
Regards J
Romania: Requiered health insurance (Or not?):
Hello All.
I work for a Romanian company,
I got a stupid flue and wanted to go to the doctors, I got a paper from HR that I work here so I can find a doctor.
I went to the doctor but he couldn't find my health insurance registration.
So I contacted HR now it seems they did not register me anywhere so I'm simply not insured here and HR says I have to find my own insurance as it's not "mandatory for them to register foreigners"
I have a long term residence (CNP) and would like to know if it's true that they don't have to insure you if you work for a Romanian company as EXPAT.
To me it sounds weird.
Regards J.
