Honduras: Escape to Honduras:

Hey there, I am a late boomer and plan to move to Honduras. It is too early to retire, but I feel that Europe, which is already going haywire, wants to go down the drain totally and I am reluctant to join the club. So I can jump ship now and live modestly or stay on the Titanic.... but the decision came so quickly - I am still a little beside myself. I would like to get your tips, where to live. Regions I should visit first. The direct coastline is surely too humid for me. I remember leather becoming green, paper yellow and metal brown the last time I tried that. And as a nordic I am a sweater - so if possible give me ideas with some altitude. BUT maybe not too far from the coastal line as that's where the fun is right? I love fish, swim, dive and sail and hope to get to all this again. I speak spanish fluently, some english and german as well. I will come soon and drive thru Honduras. Maybe some of you are willing to give me a "roadmap". Thank you.
