Bahamas: Cost of Living:

$3000 monthly for living expenses w/o concession of an automobile. Bahamas is expensive. To live according to the U.S. is a minimum 50% higher. For a family, that amount would double.

Bahamas: Legal Assistance for owned land:

Reynaldo Toote, Esq. (242) 427.9253 Rey is an effective and knowledgable attorney who serves all islands. Sure he could help you. Where on Eleuthera? How many acres? We are always interested in looking at property. Dominic Vara Vara Development dvara@varadevelopment.com

Bahamas: Bringing a pitbull from the us to the bahamas to live:

well yes, of course there is clearance requirements. we are doing it with our dogs right now. There is a form online through the Ministry of Health (I believe). Just google it. You must get a vet to fill out a form and certify that the animal is up to date on all inoculations. Also, you must get him a rabies shot and wait a minimum of 30 days afterward to take him into bahamas but no longer than 10 months. Its a $10 fee with the form and there may be an additional fee when you get there- I can't remember. I know Jet Blue charges $125 per dog to fly from Ft Lauderdale. But hats it in a nutshell!

Bahamas: Downtown Nassau:

Just use normal caution and common sense. Deal with resort employees ONLY- avoid venturing out at night unaccompanied. Crime is not bad- but it does exist- as in anywhere. In terms of shows- Atlantis always has "some entertainment".... But I am sure there is more; we are just not yet living there until first of the year. But we have been there 8 times in the past 6 months. Have a great time! Hope others can provide a little more for you.

Bahamas: US Dollar:

Its even money - dollar for dollar and they accept the US Dollar equally. No need to exchange unless you want to.

Bahamas: Moving From U.S.:

yes of course you can home school in the bahamas. Many do.

Bahamas: website for buying household goods?:

thanks Adany. we are looking for the same thing. We leased a property with nothing in it. BIG hassle
