Philippines: Gated Subdivisions around Tagaytay/Silang/etc.:

Howdy All. Can anyone recommend what gated subdivisions around Tagaytay that are decent? Also if there are any to stay a way from? The wife really like that general area in and around Tagaytay. She's planning a visit and we want to get a tentative itinerary established. I personally am leaning towards Lipa City and the Tierra Maria Estates (larger lots). She likes the Tagaytay area because it is between Batangas and Manila. She has family in both areas including in Cavite. Plus she say the temperature is milder in the Tagaytay area. I know that having water and electric service already run to the lots will be a plus as well as TV and internet service. Any recommendations will be appreciated.

Philippines: Waffle Box construction:

The company that builds the Waffle Box houses also lists examples of what they have built. Try asking if those owners will talk to you about them. Nothing better than first hand reference. Also I emailed the company about insulation and interior finishes. They can do both. As for the foundation, you can have it built as poorly or as good as you want it.

Philippines: Lipa City Gated Subdivisions:

Hi All. I ran across an add for the "Tierra Maria Estates" gated subdivision in Lipa City. It has large lots (750 sq meter and larger). Their prices seem reasonable compared to what I have seen on line. Does any one in that area have any personal info on that subdivision or any others that have reasonably priced over sized lots. We are looking in Lipa, Tagaytay, and the surrounding areas. I appreciate all info provided.

Philippines: Tagaytay Questions:

Hello. The wife and I are planning to retire to the Philippines in 2 to 3 years. She has family in Cavite and Batangas. We are strongly considering the Tagaytay area. We plan to have a solid concrete house built once we find a suitable lot. I have found one contractor advertising "Waffle Box" prefabbed concrete house designs that look very interesting. Do any of you all have knowledge or experience of these type of houses? We will be coming over there next year for a visit. I have several questions and was hoping someone would like to converse via email so as not to bog down the website. I can ask them all here but it's up to the members. My wife and I will be in our early 60s when we retire in a couple years. So I'm trying to keep the "adventure" of moving there as manageable as possible. For-warned is fore-armed as they say. :) Also hopefully we wish to make some contacts in the Tagaytay area that we can maybe meet and make friends with. I appreciate any and all responses.
