Saint Lucia: Buying a used car:

Hello Everyone! We moved here 3 weeks ago and things are going very well. We found a villa in Panoramic Heights in Bonne Terre and our children have been accepted to the Montessori school here as well. Now, we desperately need an inexpensive car! Anyone have a lead on someone selling their car?

Hello, My husband and I are moving our family to St. Lucia from NYC next month! We are self-employed and can run our company from anywhere, so employment isn't an issue for us. However, as a matter of practice, we are very big networkers. I will keep my eye open for anything like what you guys could be part of. Where on the island are you guys going to be visiting?

Hello, does anyone know about the private health insurance on the island? We can get some 'traveler's insurance' before we go, but if I can get straight up health insurance on the island I would rather do that. What companies are there? What am I looking at paying for it? Thanks everyone!

Saint Lucia: Visa Questions:

Hello, We are moving to St. Lucia Feb. 1st. I am wondering if we will need visas before we arrive. We have 1 way tickets, valid US passports.... etc. Everything I am reading says that we need return or through tickets. How does everyone handle this? Is there a general way/place that people go every few months to renew their visas? In Thailand we just did visa runs, but I can't seem to find information about this for St. Lucia. Thank you!

Saint Lucia: Homeschooling? Shopping? Airports? Housing?:

Hello Everyone, My husband, two small boys, and I are looking to move to St. Lucia from Brooklyn in the next few months. Can anyone tell me their thoughts on schooling and childcare? Our 3 year old is being home schooled right now. Our 1 year old hangs out and watches intently. We own our one location independant company and work from home, so we do have the time if the schools aren't great there. Also, we are planning to only bring the necessary clothing with us. Is there shopping areas for other clothes, furniture, and other things we would need to furnish a home? On that note, We are probably going to rent for a bit before buying. Can anyone tell me about the rental market, where to look, what to expect to pay? I know I asked a lot of questions, but I am willing to guess that a lot of people would be helped by your answers besides myself. Thank you!
