Italy: No reply from real estate agents:
Hi There,
I approached recently to quite a number of real estate agents (in some cases it was a private seller), roughly only third of my applies were responded, could it be because it was written in English?
It sounds weird, real estate market is weak, hundreds of offers are published, and yet no responses..
Thanks,
Gongi

Italy: Buying an apartment without an agent:
Hello,
I've searched an apartment to buy around Roma lately, in one case I approached an agent, asked some general questions via mail, got some answers, NO commitment was made to use the agent's services etc..
Anyway, I've found out the very same apartment on airbnb, it turned out that the owner is trying to sell his house while still trying to rent it for short periods.
My question: Can I approach the owner directly regarding the possibility to buy his apartment?
Is it 'ok' to bypass the agent ?
Many thanks,
Gongi

Italy: a life in Italy as none residents:
Hello,
As we browse this forum, it become clearer that residency in Italy is not really a must, we live in Israel, which is only 3 hours flight from Rome, we consider the following:
- a few months italian life 'trial' (renting an apartment, learn the language, etc.)
- Obtain a codice fiscale at the embassy
- Buy an apartment / house
- Enjoy this house several times (2-3) a year, each time for short periods (2-3 months)
Are there any caveats in this approach?
Will we be able to buy a car, insurance, bills with our codice fiscale?
Will the authorities count our overall time in Italy if it exceeds 6 months in a certain year?
Will we be able to purchase a medical insurance at a reasonable price as none residents?
Many thanks!
