Colombia: Moving To Medellín:

Renting an apartment may be difficult if you do not have at least one co-signer. Will you have a visa allowing you to work or acquire residency? There are many short term stay apartments that will not require a co-signer, but they are through agencies that cater to foreigners and typically charge more.

Colombia: converting to Pasos:

I agree with Whoanellie, you do not want to use a "casa de cambio", they will not give you a good exchange rate. If you only need to exchange 1,800,000 or less per day, you can do three withdrawls of 600,000 pesos at Bancolombia, and you will most likey incur charges with your bank for each withdrawl. You may also use services like Xoom.com for up to 2,999,999 pesos per month. It will deposit in Bancolombia or I believe Colpatria too. for a $US 4.99 fee.
