Ireland: Update on Attempts:

The estate agent for the home we are interested in said that we could purchase it and live in it for 3 months as a holiday cottage. Not gonna happen. We have given up on this dream and will pursue Scotland instead. Thank you all for your advice and best wishes!

How does an American go about getting residency in Ireland? My husband and I would like to buy a house there. It sounds like getting residency is very difficult.
