United States: Canadian moving to Texas:

Hi, I'm looking for input on a couple of things. First, I want to import a Canadian car, a newer model 3 years old. Is there a quick basic summary that anyone can offer? Second, my spouse would not have work authorization, she would be a dependant on mine. Aside from an internet business based out of Canada are there possible options for her to legally make a modest income in the States? Any help is appreciated. I know most of this is available online somewhere, I'm just hoping for replies from those that have jumped through the hoops already.

Mexico: Cost of Electricity in Mexico:

Electricity can be very expensive depending on your situation. We lived in an area with a 4 month hot season, we had 3 older model A/C's which ran a lot, almost continuously. We did not choose our rental carefully enough. Our 3 month bill came to over $800 USD. But, I was monitoring the meter and planned for that cost knowing I would never do that again. Based on use, you get billed different rates. The more you use the higher the rate per kwh. I think there are 3 tiers, but don't recall exactly. Our Mexican mechanic told me that he installed a good quality minisplit that cooled most of his home. After seeing the low bill, he installed 2 more in bedrooms and found his bill did not increase. Electricity can be expensive, but as you noted, it certainly doesn't have to be.

Mexico: Business possibilities in Mexico?:

Cozumeldeb, do you know what kind of living these expats with trades make in Mexico. Who is their typical market? Expats or locals? I am wondering if I can utilize any construction skills in Mexico to make a living.
