Italy: Moving to Italy possibilities:

Is the $75K before or after taxes both US & Italian?

Italy: 90/180:

Do you have to leave the Schengen area after you have used your 90 days in 180? Or is it possible to stay 60 days then use the other 30 day as the 180 ends and a new 180 begins giving you a new 90 days?

Italy: Completing a house remotely:

Does anyone have experience in "fare il rogito" while not in Italy. Our notaio has said we need to designate a person to be there for us and that we need to have a power of attorney sent in Italian. We would also need to get an apostle for 1 of the documents we need notarized. A recommendation for a US lawyer that could help with this would be great. Thanks.

Italy: ER Visa Denial Resolutions:

Has anyone had experience resolving an elective residency denial? My husband and I just received a denial. We have the required financial resources however not in pensions and annuities but in interest income. A few questions; 1. Is it better to reapply vs file an appeal? 2. If one were to reapply is there a wait time on when you can reapply? Thank you, Magruder

Italy: staying in Italy less than 3 months:

It is possible to register a "contract gratuito" with the commune. You can find examples of the contract on-line although I'm not sure if this is acceptable by the Italian Consulate

Italy: Leaving my house in Italy by will:

Does anyone know if you can leave your house solely to your spouse if you do not have children? Would siblings be considered forced heirs who are required to get part of the house? Also, if both husband and wife died can the house be willed to someone by choice rather than forced heirs?

Italy: Required income for retiring to Italy:

The NYC consulate asked for 31K Euros per person in my recent application.
