Mexico: Medical insurance:
Any recommendations? Yes google and I have a love hate relationship. I can see the ratings, but it doesn't tell me much on the processing time for claims, what exactly to expect when dealing with certain insurance companies.
Any of you that have purchased Expat Medical Insurance, or have a medical plan within Mexico would love to know how it worked for you.
Thank you!
Mexico: Moving questions... future Canadian Expats:
Hi everyone!
beforehand "thank you" for stopping by, leaving your advice/tips/suggestion/comments ( if you leave any).
My family and I will be moving to Toluca within the next 11 months. We had originally decided within the D.F, but after finding that the market is a bit crazy for our family needs, and cost of living would be double what we actually pay now. Why Toluca? it is a realistic and affordable option for our family ( schools, work, housing, utilities, daily expenses) and was much easier to find a home in which the entire family will feel comfortable and safe.
Children-Schooling
I have read on a few blogs and Canadian education sites, about travelling and education plans abroad. I guess what am wanting to know in regards to this, as I read on some forum that it is not possible to take my kids out of school to study abroad ( We in live Alberta). I have contacted our local education ministry in regards to this concern, have yet to hear from them.
Has anyone faced any setbacks with is?
Temporary Resident Visa Requirements
What I find rather confusing is the "How to " part. I have done my google research which has led to considerable contradictions in the application process, including the requirements for the application, our Mexican Consulate in Calgary is very...uhm...limited when it comes to furnishing information. Check the website, is basically what they responded. When it comes to the financial aspect of applying I am the main source of income, as my children are all under the age of 18 and full time students, my income is around 3,200 CDN monthly after expenses. INM it mentions $1200 per person and on the Calgary page $1,875 CDN per person, would that mean $9,000 CDN overall?
Should I be applying prior to leaving or can I apply once we are in Mexico?
Some blogs I've read say to apply once in the country, others prior to leaving...thoughts? Experience?
I do have a rental contract, and bank account in Mexico. would that help with my visa application?
Shipping...
There are few household items that I will definitely not be wanting to leave nor by in Mexico as they are more expensive. Any recommendations in shipping?
Again thank you to everyone for taking your time to help!!
