Portugal: Importing a car from the USA:

Has anyone imported a car from USA into Portugal and went through the required modifications to conform to the EU standards? If so, what are the typical modifications required? I have heard that typically the lights have to be changed and even the seats belts must be replaced. Is this the case? I have done extensive research but although I found a ton of useful info on the importation documentation requirements, I have found nothing about the actual modifications typically required. If anyone has gone through the process and can share their experience, it would be greatly appreciated. Or if you can steer me to sights that may have this info would be great too. Thank you. If anyone can provide some insight

Portugal: Silver Coast:

We plan to retire to Portugal from USA. The silver coast looks like a nice area to live, but we have heard it is often too windy to be comfortable there. Is this the case?
