Portugal: What is the benefit of having a fiscal representative?:

I'm working with an attorney to get my tax payer id. I wont be in Portugal until early October and trying to do this from the US. She is asking 248E for a year of representation. What additional benefits would this representation provide.

Portugal: Tax ID Number? lawyer vs solicitor vs agent:

I'm in the process of getting as much done as possible in advance of my movement to Portugal. I've hit a snag with the Tax ID number. It would be easy to get if I were "in country" but I would be for a few months. How can I get one of these in advance? I've been pointed to lawyers or solicitors or "agent"? Your thoughts? Experience?

Moving to Portugal and want to stay connected to the internet. Should I bring my iPad with me or buy a new one when in country. How does the whole service plan work? I have ATT in the states, should i just "go native"? Suggestions? Do and Don'ts?
