About yellow

I was born in Czech Republic and moved 19 years ago to Canada. Recently I live with my norwegian husband in Oslo and working as accountant. Do not speak Norsk at all, tho, just tiny bit. Anyone wants to share time with me? Norway seems a bit cold...all the way round.

Advice for New Expats

Be patient, the 1st year is first great, than pink glasses fall down and than comes the reality. But be strong and it gets better, guaranteed.

Norway: A few vital questions, Need help!:

I would have suggestion to all whom are complaining about this wonderful country, GO BACK HOME than. Norway is the most incredible land to live, with extremely good health system. I also came from another land, Canada, and I love to live here in Oslo. My son, whom is Canadian, and whom had bad injury as visitor, got incredible care in Ullevål hospital. He would never got the same in North America. And noone even checked his insurance, the person goes first, money after... if ever. Perhaps it is you, the problem, not5 the system. Again, if you do not like it here, Get out and stop complaining. Zuzana, Oslo

Norway: At wits end in Norway...:

Dear new in Norway, I agree with Charlotte and yes girl, contact me, if you wish. I moved to Oslo 2 years ago, took the norskkurs and got a job. But ended up depressed and moved back to Canada. Than, love won and I returned to my husband, whom is Norwegian. And I agree, Norway is great if you are Norwegian. So, how come adults, whom has hardly any education, make 3 times more than me, whom has 20 years accounting experience and University degree? That sucks, for sure, and I am sick of being treated by the community as low life citizen, just because I speak perfect English and basic Norwegian. I got a great job, tho, not well paid, but superb people, but guess what? The owner is Swedish! Please contact me, whom agree with me. zuzana

Norway: Is there a checklist?!??:

Well, have you ever tried to move to eg. my home country Canada? You would have to fill up about 50 pages and tons of questions and over $1,000 to be sponsored by a spouse. Including all the stories how you have met and pictures, letters...trust me ...if you think Norway is difficult, than stay where you are. I got my work permit in Oslo quite fast, perhaps I was a good catch? I do not want anything from Norway, just to stay with my husband, I am financially independent and highly educated. Good luck. yellow

Norway: moving to Norway:

Where the bitterness comes from? It is not about where you live, but how you live, the attitude and perhaps with whom you live. I was in Oslo for just 2 months and spoiled as I was from North America, I returned back. Well, I shall try again this summer. I do believe I have a good chance to be happy in Oslo with my husband, whom is Norwegian.
