Portugal: Family Reunion in order to obtain Portugal Residency Permit:

Hello - I have obtained the residency visa through the San Francisco consulate. I now have my appointment with SEF for August 16 (I am in Lisbon). My wife arrives on May 1. Once I have my permit, my wife will join me on a permit under the "family reunification" rules. I have some questions in this regard, and am hoping someone out there has recently been through this process: 1. When were you able to make an appointment for your spouse? Did you have to wait until after you had your permit? Did you need to extend your spouse's tourist visa? If you did need to extend the tourist visa, did you make an appointment (and how long out was the appointment) or did you just show up at SEF? 2. Regarding documents for your spouse - did you they need their own FBI background check? How new/current did the FBI report need to be? 3. Did you need to show your marriage license? If so, did that license need to have an "apostille"? Thank you very much in advance if anyone out there can assist with these questions, and likely more to come. If you have been through this process and are willing to discuss details, please let me know. Thanks again.
