I will be relocating to the Guayaquil area in a month and will want to buy a new vehicle. How much room is there for negotiation of the price? I don't have a sense of the markups in Ecuador.

What is the best way to have packages from the US shipped to me in Ecuador? Is it safe and practical to have packages from say Amazon shipped or forwarded to me in Ecuador through a middleman such as Club Correos? Are customs and duties reasonable? do the packages actually arrive or do they tend to get lost or stolen?

Not there yet but my wife and I are moving to Guayaquil in May. We are from the Seattle area and own a lot on the LaCosta Golf course between Guayaquil and Salinas. I will be looking for a place to rent until I can build, buy a vehicle, etc. etc. Would enjoy meeting up once we are in the area.
