Scotland: Can we move to Scotland:

We are in a very similar situation, and are preparing to make the same move. My husband is a UK citizen, and I'm applying for a settlement visa to "join" him. (http://www.passportvisasexpress.com/visa_services/united_kingdom/country_information/united_kingdom_visa_types) The visa is good for a year, costs $1500, and must be completed before you go. There is also a $742 NIH charge, so you can access the healthcare system. This visa also allows you to work. Also, you will need to show that you will be bringing a certain amount of money, and not relying on public assistance. Get cracking early, as it can take up to 90 days to get this particular visa. You can apply online, but will need to have an appointment with Homeland Security to verify your biometic data before you go. Hope this helps! Jess
