Chile: Moving from USA:

I've been doing a lot of research about Chile, and living here has me very intrigued. But I am also worried coming from another country, how easy or hard it'll be to get into college, finding a place to live, and a job. I've read that tuition is free but is that only for natives? Should I sell my car and buy one there, or drive as far as I can and get it ferried? Has anyone from the US moved here and could share your experience!
