Costa Rica: cell phone:
If your current cell phone is "unlockable", you can enter the unlock code and just buy a cheap SIM card at the airport. They'll even help you install it. Pre-paid cell plan is cheap. Save your original SIM card for reinstall when you return to your own country. If your current cell phone is "locked", just buy a cheap disposable pre-paid "burner" at the airport. It may cost a couple of dollars more than in some down-town kiosk, but you'll save the time and hassles. Not sure if your phone is "locked"?? Call your current provider and ask. Depends on model of phone.
Costa Rica: New to CR by marriage, need help and advice:
There is a lot of good info on these topics in the ARCR forums, indexed by topic. The tabs in the left margin of this web site also give you a lot of basics and handy links. There are also a few expat blogs where they chronicle their moves. Spending a few evenings devouring those will get you a good start. Congratulations on your marriage and your new adventures. Your spouse may know about where they want to live (near family?). Best wishes.
Costa Rica: Problems with "reputable" shipping companys?:
I'd be interested in the household goods part of it. I don't live near a seaport, so am trying to wrap my head around the idea of loading a shipping container in my driveway... then??? Thanks.
Costa Rica: Home Schooling:
I thought this was a good question, so I Googled Homeschooling in Costa Rica. Quite a few good sources, including links to home school curriculums based out of US schools.. Have you tried Google?
Costa Rica: Is it just me, or has it been rainier than usual these last few weeks?:
Seems like a lot of rain for this time of year, in the Central Valley. Or am I all wet?
