Nicaragua: Moving to Nicaragua:

Hello the forum, I am a retired single man in my late 70’s. I am a US citizen and planning to move to Nicaragua. The main reason I chose Nic is for the lower living cost and the proximity to US. I am planning to have exploratory visit in March or April (is this good time to visit?) to see how it would fit for my expected life style. My sole income is $1,100/mo. So I am looking for a single bedroom rental apartment between $200 - 300 per month. My hobby is flying model airplanes and riding bicycle. Therefore I would like to live in small town or cities where it has easily accessible open space/fields for my flying and quiet roads for bicycling if there exist such places :-). North side seems appealing but I am open for any regions. It looks Southwest has nice expats communities but probably beyond my affordability. I will be staying in a hotel in Managua and would like to go around to find such places. I studied Spanish when I was young and can read/write. The conversation is not fluent since I have not had much chances to practice Spanish. Once I live in the country I think my Spanish will pick up pretty quickly because I have already good amount of vocabulary and grammar. My question to the forum is what’s the best way to see around when I get there? Can I get help from local realtor agencies or any expats who would willing to drive me around for a fee? I would like to get these help available when I get there. Your advice/recommendations to good points of contact and places to look for are greatly appreciated. Best Regards
