I HAVE LIVED IN BELIZE 28 YEARS ALL OVER THE COUNTRY , IN HOPKINS FOR THE LAST 5 YEARS , A VERY OPPRESSED AREA FOR JOBS FOR THE LOCALS , A SAFE ENOUGH PLACE AS LONG AS YOU DONT START FLASHING GOLD AND RICHES AROUND , WHAT THEY CAN T SEE THEY CANT STEAL, DONT TAKE CHANCES LEAVING WINDOWS OPEN , CAR S ECT , WHAT EVER THEY SEE THEY WILL TAKE , AND SELL IT FOR PEANUTS TO DRINK OR BUY CRACK..

Belize: contemplating of moving to Belize:

i am a single male 65 been living in Belize for 28 years, the last 5 years in Hopkins village, if you own your own home eating healthy, cable internet, electric, water it costs around $500bz a month, if you have a vehicle ad $200. bz a month , and $50.bz a month to immigration for 3 months then $100.bz a month after that for 9 months then apply for residency and pay $900bz for the application, non refundable.,this only applies if you own your home ,to rent a house is added to this from $500bz to $1200.u.s.d a month, my house may be for rent in may , check www.davescasablanca.com.

hello ,..are you the late helen hills daughter,,,if so this is dave helens old friend,...it is best to make a list of all items being brought done to belize have it verified by an lawyer his stamp on the list basically when you get to the mexican border you have to buy a temporary importation permit with a credit card it was $28.usd other wise at the at the so called 25 mile check point you can not pass, and will be told to get a broker, this permit is a free pass through mexico, but there is much corruption among police in small towns, they see your licence plates and will pull you over for a shake down for money.
