Hello, we are also investigating the Chapala area. We are taking our first trip down there in early April. If we decide to make the move, we would like to do it in the next several months. There is so much to learn about the area in the interim and we are excited about all the possibilities.

Mexico: US Expat Banking While Living In Mexico:

I am not sure if this would work but is it possible to have your US Social Security deposited directly into a Mexican Banking account if you will be living there full time. And could you leave the remainder of your funds in your US banking account and only draw on it when you return home for visits???
