Malaysia: The Jewish question:
Hi everyone
I'm a South African ESL teacher in China and I am wanting to come live and work in Malaysia (KL, probably). My boyfriend who will accompany me is Israeli, with an American passport. I realise the country is predominantly Muslim and so I am wondering if the bf might encounter any hostility? He will obviously utlise his American passport, but on a day-to-day level, making friends and connections will we encounter any antagonism? He is a computer programmer and would be looking for work in this field to supplement my teacher's salary. He is secular and non-practicing but with a heavy Israeli accent.
Any insights grateully received :)
Thanks
Kate
Malaysia: TESOL Teacher / work ?:
Hi Gina
I see no one responded to you, sadly. I am in the exact same position as you were and I wondered if you might give me some advice? I'm looking at moving to KL next month from China (I'm a South African). I hold a TEFL qualification and experience from my time here in China. How do I find work in KL? If I make the move sans job, will I be able to find one almost immediately upon arrival? Is there a job posting online resource for Malaysia? Would be very grateful for any advice. Thanks!
Kate
