Scotland: How would Scotland be for a widow?:

I am a retired Navy widow considering a move to Scotland as an expat. Up front, I am NOT repeat NOT considering this move for relationship-hunting purposes. I just want to live my remaining years in peace in a place where I usually enjoy traveling, writing or photography. My only income is my military pension and window's benefits from Social Security. Am I being realistic by entertaining the idea that this might work for me? I would like to hear opinions from other Americans who have made this move, successfully or otherwise. Thanks.

Scotland: Retire to Scotland:

Would "utter devotion to Doctor Who since 1972" count as a reason? If so, I'm in.
