Some Forum Posts:

Ecuador Welcome Forum: Parasites:

The only parasites in Ecuador are the over-paid police who do nothing but walk around looking at their smart phones ignoring all the problems and violations right in front of their noses!

Bolivia: Living in Bolivia:

What gave you the idea to live in Bolivia in the first place? I am traveling to southern Peru and Bolivia next month. The places that appear attractive are Sucre for it's colonial ambiance and Tarija in the south near Argentina and at a lower altitude.

Ecuador: Expat meeting locations:

If you have heart issues why would you want to live at the altitude of Cuenca? It would be better at the coast for you.

Ecuador Welcome Forum: Moving:

Most round trip tickets are less than a one way ticket anyway, it would be just plain stupid to buy a one way, get a round trip ticket for a 90 day return, you just might want to after 90 days here!

Ecuador: Cuenca, Ecuador Vs. Medellin, Colombia:

I lived in Medellin for a month and I will never go back. The traffic is a nightmare especially with all the motorcycles driving with no respect for the laws. It is congested and dirty except in the luxury areas. Who ever said it had a 'spring-like climate' must have come from some place with intense heat. It is hot in Medellin usually in the upper 80's. A good place to live would be at Rionegro right outside of the airport, 2000' higher gives you a nice climate and you are also close to the good things in Medellin, namely the supermarkets and malls other than that it is a croweded hell-hole! Anyone that wants to live in a city that size would be better off in San Diego.... I'm happy in Cotacachi!

Ecuador Welcome Forum: Marrying an Ecuadorian citizen:

Did you know that you have to be in Ecuador for 70 days before you can marry an Ecuadorian as a foreigner? This was to stop Cubans from coming in and marrying poor Ecuadorianas to get their papers. Anyway, why buy the cow when the milk is free??

Ecuador Welcome Forum: Rental in Cotacachi:

6 to 12 months? Do you have your residency visas? The best thing is to just come here rent a hotel room (I suggest Hostal Kimbala that also has apartments) and look around for signs. Most things posted on the internet are overpriced.

Ecuador Welcome Forum: Dental Consult in Loja:

Loja is beautiful and of course you can find ugly anywhere. To have a taste of Loja check my presentation! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MeP6lgwG3_c Loja, Ecuador

Ecuador Welcome Forum: New Pizza Place:

Some people didn´t read your post well and suggested places away from the ocean. Bahia de Caraquez would be nice. My God Puerto Lopez is a dump, avoid that area completely. As one pointed out the pizzas here made by Ecuadorians really suck, but that is because that is the way they like it, boring with little seasoning. They put either salsa de ahi (hot sauce) or ketchup on their pizzas so only the higher class can appreciate a good pizza. This is not a good idea unless you just want this for a ´hobby business´ to keep busy. Live in Ecuador 6-12 months before you risk your sanity on this idea!

Ecuador: Verifiable information:

If you didn´t know a round trip ticket is almost always less expensive than a one-way so buy a round trip ticket incase you decide it is not for you here. Also consult a lawyer or one of the businesses like ecuassit.com instead of relying on heresay in this foram, if you are just cheap and trying to say a couple bucks you may be in for an unpleasent surprise later....
