Dominican Republic: Just starting out:

Hi, I'm new here and very much looking to got out of the USA. I have a number of questions. If anyone here has a little time, would you be able to answer a few? Thanks... Here they are: 1. Can you tell me about earthquakes and tsunamis there... yes I'm one of those "ugly Americans" who pretty much knows nothing about the DR 2. My husband is a computer scientist... is the internet good enough for him to work there remotely? From a US company? 3. I have one child who will need to go to school, how much are schools? And will she get a decent education? 4. Our family has just had some seriously bad luck in the US... examples: we got embezzled for hundreds of thousands of dollars.. we got caught with 2 houses during the market crash... our adoption fell through 2x for our youngest... My oldest has a serious health disorder and for 8 years we racked up tons of medical bills despite having insurance... The bottom line is my husband has been trying to get us caught up for 7 years and it just isn't going to happen. He's working himself to death and he finally agreed to get out!! Please tell me if I'm nuts for wanting to do this for my family... Thank you in advance for answering my questions...
