Costa Rica: Seriously Considering Retirement options:

Hello! Newbie here. I am eligible to retire and seriously considering Costa Rica. I was there in the mid 80s when I was in the Navy and thought the country was beautiful. So many questions though. I am really looking for a simpler life after 30 years in the transit industry management. I am going to visit in November for a week or two so I guess the first question is where is the best place to vacation and check out retirement options and life? My pension would be around $3900 month plus a little more from a supplement plan. Too young to collect Social Security yet. Feasible? Thanks for any help!
