Hungary: Medical Clinic:

The center where such shots are given is listed below - however, I did not find shingles as one of the vaccines listed. I am sure you can call/write and ask because I'm finding articles in Hungarian advising to get the shot. I've had shingles a couple of years ago and it was no fun: Nemzetközi Oltóközpont 1134 Budapest, Váci út 70. Nyitvatartás: változás! Hétf? - péntek: 10:00 - 20:00 Szombat: 10:00 - 16:00 Telefon: +36 1 78 08 553 ,+36 1 78 78 770, +36 20 20 87 878 Megközelíthet?: Metro 3 (kék metro) Dózsa György utcai megálló

Hungary: Enough of Orban:

You are very fortunate that Hungary is now a democracy. Such an idiotic tirade would have netted you 2 days in Andrassy back in the good old days. Not to mention that you are being utterly absurd. Orban is not taking care of his friends, he is taking care of the citizens he signed on to protect. Where have I heard that recently - oh, that's right President Trump! Putting your own people first seems to have become an unfamiliar virtue over the past 3 decades. Unfortunately, libtards happen in Hungary too - but here too, you will be ignored. Foreign entities received tax breaks for a significant time. In return we received the trash they could not sell in their home country? Thanks. There are fresh produce right here in Hungary that is better quality, not sprayed to death, not genetically modified - and was not picked greet and gassed into ripening on the road. So - you can take yourself where the weather suits your pores better - you will not be missed. Orban is staying right where he is at - the silent majority voted here as it did in the US. Sanity just may return. p.s. leave the 400 - you deserve nothing other than a kick in the pants.

Hungary: If you can help it use PUBLIC TRANS!:

Can't understand why you would want to drive anyway. I've never enjoyed public transport as much. DC was a b@tch to get out of after 'rush hour' to Virginia. A bus every hour? Thanks. Here I never run for a bus or tram, if it is too full I wait for the next one or the third. There is no reason to get into the insanity of driving - and THEN! find and pay for parking. BKK is my friend.

Hungary: Hungarian pension:

:) and you are right. Wherever you've worked and paid taxes is where you are able to claim retirement benefits. If they worked in Australia - that is where they need to apply - provided they paid taxes, that is.

Hungary: Senior health insurance:

:) Sit down and smile. If you are also a Hungarian citizen you will pay about $35/month. The only difference is that those Hungarians who lived and paid taxes here - no longer pay past the age of 65. I don't mind paying, it is only fair after what I remember paying in the states - and it didn't cover everything. The deductibles and the remainder after the insurance will break the bank. Here it is covered.

Hungary: Moving back home to the 'ol USA!:

That may be true - you would have a 50-50 chance to survive but be saddled with a bill that will stress you to death. 50-50 You could have gone back and rented rather than burn your bridges and make part of the year there, part here until you are certain of what is the right decision.

Hungary: Viktor orban:

I would like to tip my hat to you for so eloquently saying what you did. I get too emotional and it is best if I remain quiet. You are 100% correct - God bless and keep Orban!

Hungary: US Presidential Debates:

Now that the results are in and our new President is doing exactly what he promised he would do - I am happy and relieved. News stations are simply not reliable for news on either side of the pond. Watch things on YouTube - just the facts, no opinions.

Hungary: return to hungary:

Ildiko - renting from an agency you must consider that they will charge the owner one month rent for their service (some places do more by charging a %) In order for the landlord not to lose out they will raise the rent to accommodate for that expense. While it is harder work - you would be saving money finding your own place. There is a dual market - I believe we talked about that once. One is for foreigners with western style apartments with western prices. There are the Hungarian apartments that don't look much different from what your family left in '56 but much less expensive. The choice is yours.
