About gated communities and the crime here in David , I am sure is around , but I have yet to witness it. People here are nice , and try to help you if you put in some effort . Just use the best tool that you have . good old common sense . try learning the language , ride the buses ( only 35 cents in the city ) to help you learn your way around , and find a good taxi driver that will help you with just about everything you may need to know , We have one here at the complex where mostly Americans and Canadians live. His name is Homer. To me the food seems bland , but I am used to spicy stuff. This is a good place to live , We also live in a gated community. the tourist renewal thing is an issue right now ,but if you apply for a residency you should have no problem.
