Scotland: Costs in Edinburgh:

I live in Anchorage, Alaska right now but plan on moving to Edinburgh in the next couple of months. I have been seeing that most people say it is quite expensive but I am not sure how it compares to Alaska. An example is the cost of a one bedroom flat here would be about £900 and a gallon of milk would cost around £3 and some. Can anyone give me some examples? Thank you so much
