Panama: Maybe Looking for house to rent end of year:

Hopefully by the end of the year I will have whatever is left in storage and I'm packing some clothes, a stereo and my 2 dogs and taking off, headed really south. No real plans unless I find a place to rent. Thought I'd just keep driving south, if I came across a town I liked, might stay a while, see how I like it. Ultimate destination is Panama. If by chance I found a pretty decent place to rent, then I'd just make a mad dash straight to Panama. I'm in my 50's, disabled vet, been retired since 1992, make way too much money for disability pay but better in my pocket than the thieves in D.C. As I know very little about the area, I'd like to keep the rent at no more than $850 a month. Has to be a house, apt. won't do, I mentioned I was bringing my stereo right. I understand you get the best places/prices by word of mouth when u are there on the ground but was curious if maybe anyone knew of a good real estate agent, rental place etc. As far as location, don't think I really want to be right in the middle of things, rural areas suit me fine. Doubt anything at this price but sure wouldn't mind the beach for my front or back yard. Any info appreciated

Nicaragua: Another of so many narcotics questions:

I'm a disabled vet, been taking morphine for 18 years or so, hate it but without it there is just too much pain and I can't function, with it and I function almost like a normal person. Question I have is I'd like to talk to a Dr before I come down. I've read posts where someone is saying how much they love their Dr, well I was wondering if I could get some contact information. Would prefer email 1st if they have it before talking to them on the phone so they could answer more at their convenience. On a side note, reading through some posts I was reading one person ranting about health care for profit and I couldn't agree more. Having been this way since I was 21, oh the stories I could tell and I have about all the proof you want that they are deliberately trying to bankrupt medicare so they can privatize it. |I've come to resent so much here any more, american capitalism - all the matters is the bottom line, no matter how you get it.

Nicaragua: Which C.A. country is best to live in?:

wow, so what about someone who pretty much resents most things about America and believes pretty much everything we think we know is a lie. Can't stand how the mantra is all that matters is the bottom line - no matter how you get it and this is only reinforced by our supposed leaders who are nothing but cheap whores, selling themselves for 10,20 even 30k or so when what they push through is making the corporation billions, if you're going to be a whore, at least be a high class one. Or maybe can't stand how no one seems to really care if you try to talk about the statistics since they privatized prisons, so a prisoner is seen as nothing more than profit. So much so that while this was a long time ago nothing has changed, when one company, I forget their name now off the top of my head, had a powerpoint presentation at their shareholders meeting touting the fact they do not rehabilitate their prisoners as it insures a high recidivism rate. Post could go on for days writing about all that is wrong here, basically comes down to I do not believe we are truly a democratic republic anymore, there was a coup long ago and it's all a dog and pony show to distract us from whats really going on and the whole purpose of the Republican and Democratic parties is simply to get me to hate the other guy so much, I will excuse anything my guy does believing it's better than having the other guy in charge but and this absolutely amazes me how intelligent people are so blind, if they paid attention, the same stuff gets done no matter who is in charge.....but I think u get the point. So we are not welcome here ? Curious what category you fall under, business maybe ? Surely you didn't just come here yourself tired of your old way of life, seeking simply someplace where you felt you could do nothing more than find joy in the simple things in life, find happiness in those around you. I guess I picked the wrong place then since I have none of what u listed. And I had read Nicaraguans were a warm, open, welcoming people to those who made an effort to assimilate - oh, wait, you're not nicaraguan are you. Sorry, my bad

Ecuador: Best Pain medication available?:

for some, pain medication isn't because we sit on the couch and don't do anything, it's pain medication that allows us to get off the couch and do anything. For example my spine grew into a solid bone when in my 20's...talk about a pinched nerve. Because I am slightly hunched over, my muscles still continue trying to pull me back up to the proper position. This causes all kinds of other conditions, I have peripheral neuropathy which means everything below my knees always has that pins and needles feeling like when a limb is asleep and I have had both of my hips replaced, one of them twice - a total hip replacement - went into the or at 11:00 Monday, checked out and went home Tuesday at 2:00 - it's not that we can't deal with pain, it's just that there is just too much of it and without strong narcotics like morphine I simply can't function. I hate all the surrounding crap that is involved with it - like everyone thinking your a drug addict - but it has allowed me to live a fully functioning life and have done anyone else can do I just look funny doing it. I was so excited about moving to Central / South America but this never even occurred to me. I thought these countries would be more enlightened than the U.S. but it seems they are less so - in order to keep those who shouldn't be using it from getting it, those who benefit from it are denied it. So it seems I have a choice of staying here or risking jail and buying illegal drugs just so I can function - and as I'd rather not be in a foreign prison, it seems I am stuck here in the U.S. A dream shattered.
