I would be interested in hearing others' experiences, too. We are planning to move to Portimao in November. We are putting most of our funds into a Schwab savings and checking account. We hear it's great for good currency conversion rates and they reimburse ATM fees.

Portugal: LONG TERM RENTAL:

Wow! Good to know. I've been researching the site: http://www.longtermlettings.com/ and it seems like there are a lot of promising rentals available (we're looking in and around Portimao). Has anyone had negative experiences with rentals on this site? I understand the best rates are October-May, but are those rates advertised legit?
