Hi Jesse, I am in the same phase than you, looking for housing online. For short term rentals i am using: www.airbnb.com www.vrbo.com www.homeaway.com The advice i got from other people on this forum is to rent one of these vacation houses for one week. Once you arrive go to speak with the locals and you will find something better and/or cheaper. Good luck!

Belize: Best place for family with kids?:

Hi, Thanks in advance for reading this topic. Your comments will be highly appreciated. My wife, my 3 years old twins and I are considering to move to Belize for 3-9 months. We are semi-nomads who stay for some months/years in a place and depart for a new adventure. One of the reasons to explore Belize, is that our kids are in a good age to learn english, so a safe place with schools at a walking distance is more important for us than pubs and beaches. We are not elitist, local and rural schools are OK. Which place would you recommend us to settle? and how much does it cost an elementary school/kindergarten in Belize? I work online and we have a budget $2500 USD monthly. Beyond that we can take from our savings. is $3000 USD a reasonable amount for 2 adults + 2 kids? i see rents for furnished 1bedroom apartments (airbnb) in Belize are around 1200USD, there are a few cheaper but in rural areas where i doubt there are schools and WiFi. We plan to explore the whole country on weekends :) Many thanks
