Portugal: Cascais vs Lagos:
@ Picareno
"Brits Yikes" ??
Have you something against the British?
There are also a good number of French, German and other Non Portuguese immigrants in the Algarve. Or do Americans think the world is their own private travel destination and the rest of us should stay from whence we came?
Portugal: Canada to Portugal:
Hi Donna & Roger,
I was surprised to read your post it seems we are in a very similar situation.
My wife and I are currently in Canada and also looking to move to Portugal this year. We have current UK and Canadian passports and plan to travel to Portugal on our Brit passports as EU citizens. What happens with Brexit? Who knows, but we will cross that bridge if the need arises.
Our house will go up for sale in April and we plan to ship just our very personal belongings. Getting quotes for shipping has been interesting. the responses from moving companies range from being ignored to excellent. I can give you names of the worst and the best if you message me.
I did not get a response from the Portuguese Consulate either when I asked a question.
For property rentals I found Idealista a pretty good place to look ..... www.idealista.pt/arrendar-casas/leiria-distrito/pagina-2
If anyone in and around Caldas Da Rainha has leads or contacts for longer term rentals (furnished with min 2 bed and 2 bath) I would appreciate the information.
We are both world travelers (lived in 4 continents and 6 countries) so a move to Portugal is more exciting than daunting.
Looking forward to a snow free winter next year :)
Jim
