United States: Affordable Artist communities in the US?:

Hi I am an artist, I am retired, but would like to continue creating painting and writing, I am looking for affordable housing in an Artist community, if such exists. Those that I found are highly priced. the others are in run down areas in cities. If anyone can help I appreciate it. I am looking on up scale trailer parks for artists, if such exists...

Thank you. I don't feel safe there. I really want peace of mind . Of course one can be unsafe anywhere nowadays, this is an unfortunate reality. But I rather try American mentality at this stage in life. I am an American citizen returning home after many years in Europe. I wish to find others like me, I sam an artist.
