Ecuador: Kindle:

Hello all! I am an avid reader and have been concerned about the availability of books when we move to Cotacachi in Nov. I understand that some people have been using the Kindle. I want to invest in one before I leave, but have a few questions about it. If you have one, or know of someone there who has one, please write back. I need to know if you need any special connections, etc., in order to use it in Ecuador. Also, can you download your books from Ecuador, or do you download them before you leave the states? Does it work as effectively in Ecuador as the U.S.? Thanks in advance for your help.

Ecuador: Need Rental Info for cotacachi:

Hello, We will be making the move to Cotacachi, early Nov. this year. We just sold our home and would like to hear from anyone in Cotacachi or anyone that has good knowledsge of this beautiful town. If you know of any rentals, must be furnished and accept a small dog and a cat, please let us know.We have information from Gary Scott and would like other avenues to pursue also. Thanks, Richard

Great to know. We will hopefully be there in the first week of Nov.Just sold our home. We will be happy to meet Expats in the area. We also are looking for a two bedroom rental that allows pets. If you are aware of any rentals, please let us know. We are a couple in our late 60's.Thanks, Richard/Beverly

Panama: Breakdown of actual costs?:

Hi, We are new to this exchange, glad to be here. Yes we have been reading about Panama as a retiree and just recently are very seriously considering this after reading as much as we can find. But seems as though this is really the site to get true answers. We are retired and our concern now is we have not found a real breakdown on an actual costs to (fees, moving costs)whatever is really involved in planning such a move. Does anyone out there have a breakdown of your own experience and what we can expect for upfront expenses(excluding home purchase or rental) Thanks, Richard

Ecuador: Cuenca retirement:

Hello Marie, We are considering mocing to Cuenca as soon as we sell our house in Houston, Texas. We like what we have read so far about Cuenca, so any information you can provide for us will be helpful. We want to get cedullas as we are on Social security. I know your wrote this back in Mar 08, but we will be interested in renting. We also have a small dog and cat. Thanks, Richard

Panama: Retirement In Panama:

Hello Anayansi, Read your comments and we are just now beginning to explore the living abroad scenario and of all that we have founf so far,Panama seems to be the preferred retirees choice. Please let us know where we can read about your project. We are certainly interested in all the facts that you cover about retiring in Panama. For us it would probably harder as we are on Social security, but what we have read so far, this is probably can be accomplishged with limited resources. It certainly would be a challenge but we are up for it. Thanks for your time, Richard Villarreal
