Albania: Moving to Albania:

Well a few months late but...My husband is from Albania and I went there for a few months prior to returning to the US after working in the middle east. It is a cheap country you can rent a place for 2-300 for a 2bed 2 bath (flat). As far as work good look the average salary per year is about 500 US. I had looked and hoped there would be available jobs but there are very few. Unless you want to get a toefl and teach English. I was in Tirana (the capitol) and I found it different. Getting around was super easy, they have a great bus system and traveling through Albania is super easy. Renting hotels were cheap no more than 20us a night I think the most I paid was 35 and I was in vlore checking out the beaches. It would be better if you knew someone who could show you the ropes for a few weeks but jobs even for Albanians are hard to come by. There are shops upon shops everywhere you turn its hard believe they make any money at all. There isn't really a big market of fastfood places so if you are good at that you could thrive the local meats and produce are super cheap as long as you don't go to a TEG to get them. Good Luck on your adventures and hope this helps you. (FYI the only jobs I found were related to the US embassy in Albania. for which you had to really know both languages)
