Austria: buying property in austria:

Hi, We are thinking of moving to Austria and hope to buy a home there in 2008. I would like some information about the process of buying property in Austria, i.e. making an offer, exchange of contracts, who is involved etc. Most importantly, what charges and taxes are applicable when you buy? Also, are there areas of the country where buying of property is restricted? Thanks for your help. Meg.
