Australia: Applying for Spouse VISA from within OZ??!:

Hello Has anyone applied for a visa by partner (marriage) from within Australia after arriving on maybe a tourist visa or other visa?? We are looking to make a quick move abroad from the US and are hoping to deal with the visa process once we arrive, however, do not want to be sent out of the country for approval as we have 2 kids and one will be in school there. Any similar experiences? Any advice? Other things to consider in the midst of a quick move (1 or 2 months) abroad?

Australia: Quick Move to Oz- Red Tape?:

Hi I've read quite a few messages about people planning a move for years in advance because of all the "red tape." Our situation is my husband (aussie citizen) is being laid off from work here in the us and we are looking to move to Oz in the next month or two. We own a home there, but are nervous if we do a quick move we may miss some KEY things like applying for a visa for me (american) outside of Oz or any other type stuff. We have two children and one already has dual citizenship. Is it best to apply for the other one too? Is it a bad idea to move there without a job lined up? We could stay with his folks. Should I have his mum sponsor me for visia purposes at her work or can I arrive and deal with the visa process there as a spouse? Does anyone have knowledge on major things we need to take care of BEFORE we fly over??? Thank you kindly for all your advice in advance. Julie
