Switzerland: Zug vs Luzern:

Hi - My husband is in the process of accepting a 2-year international rotation to Switzerland from the US with his company beginning in May. His office is located in Zug (by the main railway station), but we have no idea where to start looking for an apartment, since we are interested in both Zug and Luzern. We are both 28 years old and don't have any children. Right now we live in NYC and are used to a fast-paced city lifestyle and are unsure how we will adapt to life in Zug (although we are very excited to finally be in a relaxing atmosphere!) and thought that perhaps Luzern would be a better fit for us. We would love an apartment in a typical "old town" setting on a cobblestone street with flowerboxes, a cozy fireplace, and views of the mountains... but is this just a dream I have?? We will be visiting Zug and Luzern in about a week and would love some advice on nice places to live. We anticipate spending anywhere from 2,500 - 3,500 CHF per month on rent. We also don't know how the commute to work would be from Luzern to Zug... can anyone help? Thanks! Nancy
