Singapore: Accommodation Options In Singapore:
Dear Singaporeans,
I have just been offered a new job in Singapore and would like information and feedback on:
1. The different types of accommodation available, and
2. What are the recommended areas to live in on my budget.
Is it true that prices quotes in classifieds are 30% to 50% above the real rental price?
For reference, I am a 33yr old Irish national currently living in Beijing, China. I am going to be working in the advertising sector based in Boat Quay. I am single and would like to live in a 2-bedroomed fully furnished apartment with a budget of SGD2,000-SGD2,500/month.
Can I get a place in a condominium with pool and gym for this rate?
I am happy to live 15-20mins away from Boat Quay, but the area should be convenient for MRT/public transport and supermarkets, as I won;t have a car.
Any ideas and suggestions provided would be greatly appreciated.
Singapore: New to Singapore - Trying to make friends:
Hi Gillian, Hi Meredith,
It appears both of you have recently moved to Singapore. I am also going to be moving there in early 2008 and I wanted to know how you got on in your searches for accommodation?
I am 33, Irish, currently living in Beijing, looking for a 2-bed fully furnished place somewhere in Singapore for SGD2k-SGD2.5k. Am I crazy? Will I get something at this price, or would I have to consider a flatshare?
Any advice would be appreciated. thanks in advance.
